Religious Memorials

The denominational monuments are located at the end of the camp road: The building in the middle is the Catholic Mortal Agony of Christ chapel, opened in 1960. In 1967 the Jewish Memorial (on the right hand side) and the Protestant Church of Reconciliation (on the left hand side) were erected. Behind the watchtower and the wall the roofs of the Carmelite convent are visible. On the way to the crematorium area the Russian Orthodox chapel was built in 1994.

The religious memorials were erected on an area behind the former prisoners' barracks. The buildings located there during the time of the concentration camp were torn down at the beginning of the 1960s.
