The museum opened May
1, 2005, after twenty years of hopes, dreams and
plans. The floor plan, the display cabinets and
the displays themselves have all been put
together by our volunteers and we're very proud
of their talents and their dedication. Volunteer
work crews from the Little Rock Air Force Base
have helped with landscaping and janitorial work.
The artifacts in the displays are all on loan or
outright gifts from local citizens and are all
original.
It
is the tireless dedication and daily effort of
our Board of Directors, that has brought the
museum to this point and they deserve much credit
for bringing this central Arkansas regional
attraction to our community.
The
future for the museum lies behind it.... a
ten-thousand square foot addition which will
house some military vehicles and displays for the
Korean, Gulf, Afghan and Iraqi Wars. We also have
a small theater where visitors can enjoy films
and lectures.
